MEET DR. ALLEN GOBEN
Dr. Goben was honored in 2009 as a Distinguished Graduate at The University of Texas at Austin Community College Leadership Program. In 2011, he was named to the 21st Century Commission on the Future of Community Colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges.
Dr. Goben served as president at small, medium, and large colleges including Tarrant County College Northeast Campus (Texas) 2014-2018 where his team achieved distinction, being named a Future Forward College by Communities of the Future. He also served as President of Heartland Community College in Illinois where his team doubled the college Foundation’s assets and created Heartland GPS: Guided Path to Success, a framework for improved student planning and success. Allen began presidential work at Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) in Kentucky where his team achieved a 24 percentage point improvement in fall to fall semester student persistence, in just three years. HCTC was also honored as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky and was on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges to Work For” list. Dr. Goben and wife Kelly enjoy life with three wonderful daughters: Natalie, Riley and Halley.
